SNJCC is a creative educational environment for at risk teens and young adults to help develop work skills for entry into the job market. Skill programs include Hard Vo Tech (Welding, Wood, and Auto Shops) Building Trades, Soft Vo Tech (Computer Technology) and a Culinary Arts Program. VWB provided master planning, programming and design for the new campus of over 15 acres. The program consists of a New Recreation Center, a new Maintenance Facilities, two Education Buildings, Student Services, Administration, Parking and 3 Vocational Buildings. Site amenities included making a centralized outdoor quad, recreational fields, campus landscaping and parking. The building designs include concepts that support an ease of construction and a prideful image but that utilize low maintenance materials and are timeless in form and detail. Together these building will be a "kit of parts" that create a uniform character for the Center and set a precedent for future buildings. The project is broken down in two phases: Phase I consists of two education buildings, a recreation building and a student services/security building. Phase II consists of an administration and hard vocational building.
